Upcoming Performance in Vermont (and more...)

Hello all,

I’m writing to update you on what I’ve been up to over the summer and invite you to some upcoming dance events.

The beginning of my summer has been focused on my teaching work. At the end of May, the Tallahassee Ballet School wrapped up the school year with their recital. I was proud to see the growth in all of the students I have taught over the past two years. After the recital, I drove south to Tampa, where I taught at the New Tampa Dance Theatre Summer Intensive. It was a full three weeks. I taught classes in Ballet, Pointe/Variations, Dance Conditioning, and Contemporary and led discussions on Dance History and Injury Prevention. I love teaching as it gives me the opportunity to reflect on my own dance research and put it in practice on the upcoming generation of performers.

Looking forward to July, I have two exciting updates. The first is the CORPS de Ballet International Conference (July 7-12) at the School of Dance at FSU. I have spent the last two years working with CORPS’ current President, Professor Anjali Austin, on planning this conference. This year’s focus is producing action items centering on Identifying Inclusivity, Equality, Equity and Privilege in Ballet’s Training and Culture. If you are interested in hearing more about CORPS or the conference, visit http://www.corps-de-ballet.org/conference/.

The final update is Performance Platform, at the Phantom Theater in Warren, VT, July 25-31. I am thrilled to be presenting my own solo work, a continuation of my thesis, and to continue collaborating and performing with Sarah Rose. We will be in residency at the Phantom Theatre and presenting a series of master classes alongside the performances July 30-31. For more information and to purchase tickets please visit https://www.phantomtheater.org/contact-us.

More exciting updates to come!
